GREAT NEWS - LOTTERY FUNDING
The Horndean & District Amateur Radio club is very pleased to announce that it has been successful in its application for lottery funding. We have been awarded £2145, by the National Lottery Awards For All scheme, for our project to update and modernise our training course equipment. The club is planning to run further foundation licence courses, and the club has exam centres registered by the Radio Society of Great Britain for the purposes of holding foundation, intermediate and advanced licence examinations. For further information about the above please contact the club secretary, Stuart GØFYX, e-mail gØfyx@msn.com or by telephone on 023 9247 2846.

Skittles Night
The annual skittles night, which includes a basket meal has now been booked. The venue, as before will be at The Mead End in Denmead on Thursday April 26th for a 18:45 start. Cost and menu choices will hopefully be available soon. Details can be had at a club meeting or by e-mail.

We generally get a good turnout at this event and so hope to see a few more of our new members and families in attendance. The hall can cater for a large group, and those of you who attended the Christmas functions will know the layout of the hall being used. There is a portable skittle alley which is laid out to the side of hall. If you think you can support Julia and the club in April please let us know or sign your names on the list provided during club meetings. There are prizes up for grabs and a new club champion winner to be found.

Annual Coach Trip
The club’s annual coach trip is being looked into at the moment. Popular requests in order of votes from last year have been placed. Since then other suggestions have also been received to add to the list. When this is completed the list will be passed around again for approval. Another possibility being looked at is a day trip on the Watercress line with cream teas and stop at a museum further up the line. Then maybe take in picnic lunch.
Once a costing has been sought we will let you know. The cost of the final coach trip may include entry or just the coach fare.

New Club Meeting Venue
The last club meeting to be held at Lovedean Village hall was held on March 22nd 2011. All meetings from April 7th 2011 will be held at our new venue at Anders Hall, off Milton Road, Waterlooville, PO7 6AW. Please pass on this information to any club members that may not be aware of the new venue.

Website Addition
Hopefully you will have noticed an extra button on the left frame. Just press the 'JOURNALS' button and this will take you to our new journals page. From here you can view or download the club journal. You will need Adobe Reader to view these files. I hope to include archived journals at a later date. Peter G8PIQ has been busy converting the journals to PDF format. When they are ready they will be added. Now you will be able to view your club journal online and will not miss any of your favorite articles, even if you have lost your hard copy.

Club Awards Reminder
A reminder about the club awards. Full rules available from Dick G0RPX or G0FYX.
