The G4BEQ CW Achievement Award.
Not an easy award to obtain. It has been called an achievement award because it can be obtained in several ways. It could be awarded to someone who has made great strides in his ability to send and receive Morse, someone who has put the club on the map by a long period of running a club net, working C.W. on Special Stations run by the club, or even by keeping the club's name to the fore by entering the many C.W. contests that are run every year. It could also be awarded to someone who has run Morse classes for the club. In other words they would have achieved something by using the C.W. mode. It may be applied for by an individual or on the recommendation of another person BUT only club members are eligible.

Before anyone can apply or be recommended, they must:-
* Hold the H&DARC Certificate issued for C.W. mode only. (On VHF or HF).
* Have operated on the Sunday club C.W. net on at least 20 occasions during the qualifying period.
* Proof of certificate and log extract of net operating must be submitted.
* The qualifying period is from October 1st to September 30th yearly.

A panel of judges will be appointed, whose verdict will be final, to assess the merits of applicants and approve the award. The award consists of a gold plated miniature key mounted on an ebony base enclosed in wooden casket. Complete with a certificate. The award is to be returned to the Secretary every September for safe keeping. The certificate is kept to show that you were an award winner.
